There's no better way to see Central Park than on a bicycle! It's a massive 840 acres and includes 58 miles (93 km) of drives and paths! But even at a leisurely pace, we'll get to see about three-quarters of the terrain, and most of the major features of the park. We'll enter in the southeastern corner, see the skating rink, carousel, chess and checkers house, the Dairy, the Bethesda Terrace and fountain, the Jackie Kennedy reservoir, the Great Lawn, the Shakespeare Garden, the Belvedere Castle, Strawberry Field (John Lennon memorial) and the Dakota apartment building. During the ride I'll share historical facts of the 162 year old park, its creation and evolution, funny stories, people important to the park and I'll point out places you'll recognize from TV and movies. And you wanna know about the real estate—"What are they paying to live there?"—I know about that, too. You'll have fun and get a great view and education on NYC's biggest tourist attraction!

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on the bike tour?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids should be comfortable riding a bike for about 2-3 hours. I’ve seen families with kids as young as 8 ride, but they need to be good cyclists. Helmets are provided, which is a plus! It’s a great way for families to bond while exploring Central Park!

Q: What’s the cancellation policy if the weather is bad?

A: If the weather looks bad, they usually contact you a day prior to reschedule. If it’s really nasty, like heavy rain, they’ll cancel and offer a full refund or reschedule option. Just keep an eye on the forecast before your date!

Q: What should I wear for the bike tour?

A: Definitely wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Layers are a good idea since you might start sweating but could feel a bit chilly when you stop. Sunglasses and a hat are great too, especially if it’s sunny!

Just did the Best of Central Park Bike Tour—Amazing experience!

I recently took the Best of Central Park Bike Tour with Scott’s New York, and it was so much fun! We started near the southeastern corner, and our guide was super knowledgeable. We saw everything from the Bethesda Terrace to Strawberry Fields, plus he shared some really cool history about the park. It was a leisurely ride, so don’t worry if you're not super fit. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting NYC or looking for a unique gift!

Considering the bike tour as a gift—anyone have thoughts?

I'm thinking about getting the Best of Central Park Bike Tour for my friend’s birthday. She loves biking and hasn’t been to NYC yet. I just want to know if it’s worth it. How was the experience? Any tips for a first-timer?
