Q&A

Q: Can you tell me about the weather and what to wear for the glacier and whale watching tour?

A: The weather in Juneau can be unpredictable, so I’d recommend dressing in layers. A waterproof jacket is a must since you might get splashed while whale watching. Also, wear comfortable shoes because you’ll be walking around the glacier as well. Just be prepared for anything from sun to rain!

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this tour?

A: Nope, there’s no specific age limit! Kids of all ages can go on the whale watching tour and to Mendenhall Glacier. Just keep in mind that younger kids might need a little extra help getting around the glacier. They might love the salmon bake, too!

Q: What’s the cancellation policy if the weather is bad?

A: If the weather is too severe, the tour provider will typically work with you to reschedule for a later date. They prioritize safety, so if it’s not safe to go, they’ll let you know. Just check their cancellation policy on the website before booking!

Just got back from the Best of Juneau experience—amazing!

I went on the Mendenhall Glacier and whale watching tour last week. Wow, it was breathtaking! The glacier was so beautiful, and we even saw a humpback whale breach! The salmon bake afterward was delicious, and the live music was a nice touch. Highly recommend this as a gift for anyone who loves nature!

Thinking about gifting this experience, but need opinions!

I’m considering giving my parents the Best of Juneau experience for their anniversary. They love the outdoors, but I’m worried about the mobility factor with the glacier walk. Are the paths easy to navigate? Anyone know how strenuous it is?
