Q&A

Q: How strict are the age limits for the dinner cruise? Can kids come?

A: Kids are definitely welcome on the cruise! Just keep in mind that it’s a more relaxed atmosphere. Some parents have brought their little ones and said they had a blast, especially with the live music and fun sights. Just make sure to check with the provider about any special accommodations you might need if you have very young kids.

Q: What's the best way to dress for this cruise? Any suggestions?

A: Casual beach attire is perfect! Think light layers since it can get cooler once the sun sets. A sundress or shorts and a nice top work great. Don’t forget comfy shoes, as you’ll be walking a bit to get to the boat. And definitely bring a light jacket if you tend to get cold easily!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Do they cancel the cruise?

A: They'll definitely keep an eye on the weather. If it’s too rough or dangerous, they’ll either reschedule or cancel. Usually, you can get a full refund if it’s canceled due to weather. Just be sure to check their cancellation policy and maybe even call ahead if it looks iffy the day of.

Thinking of gifting the Big Island Historical Dinner Cruise - any thoughts?

I’m considering this dinner cruise for my parents' anniversary! They love history and Hawaiian culture. The idea of sailing to Kealakekua Bay and enjoying local food sounds perfect. Has anyone done this cruise? How’s the food and the experience overall? I really want it to be memorable for them!

Just did the dinner cruise - it was unforgettable!

Wow, I just got back from the Big Island Historical Dinner Cruise and it was everything I hoped for! The live music really set the mood, and the sunset view at Kealakekua Bay was stunning. The food was delicious, especially the chicken! Definitely make sure to request the vegan option in advance if you need it. Can't recommend this enough as a gift or just for fun!
