Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this Mauna Kea Summit Tour experience?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but kids need to be at least 8 years old to join for safety reasons. It's a bit of a trek, and the altitude can be challenging for younger ones. Just make sure they can handle the cold and the altitude, and they'll have a blast!

Q: What's the best way to dress for the Mauna Kea Summit Tour? I heard it gets cold!

A: Definitely dress in layers! It can get super chilly up at the summit, even if it's warm down below. They provide snow parkas and gloves, but I'd suggest bringing a warm hat and good shoes. Just be prepared for the temperature drop!

Q: What if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule if needed?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather doesn't cooperate! They keep an eye on the forecast and will inform you if the tour gets canceled. Just reach out to them as soon as you can if you need to change your plans.

Just did the Mauna Kea Summit Tour! Mind-blowing experience!

I went on the Mauna Kea Summit Tour last week and wow, it was incredible! The sunset was stunning, and the stargazing after was next level. The guides took such awesome photos of us under the stars. We got the vegan sandwich, and it was surprisingly good! Just a heads up, it gets super cold at the summit, so definitely wear layers. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting the Big Island!

Thinking of gifting the Mauna Kea Summit Tour - any tips?

I want to get this Mauna Kea tour as a gift for my friend who’s obsessed with astronomy. Is it worth it? What was your experience like? I’m especially curious about how the guides handle the cold and any extra gear we might need. Thanks!
