Q&A
A: There aren't strict age limits for the whale watch tour, but kids under 5 might not have the best experience due to the boat's motion. It's generally recommended for kids aged 6 and up, though families with younger kids have joined without issues. Just make sure to bring life jackets if they're not provided!
A: If the weather looks questionable, they usually notify you a day before. If they have to cancel due to bad conditions, you can either reschedule or get a full refund. They take safety seriously, so it's good to know they won't take you out in rough seas.
A: Dress in layers since it can get windy out on the water! I recommend a light jacket and maybe some sunscreen. Also, wear comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. The boat can splash, and you don’t wanna be uncomfortable while whale watching!

Thinking of gifting the Pelagic Whale Watch Tour - any tips?
I'm looking for a special gift for my parents' anniversary, and I found this Pelagic Whale Watch Tour on the Big Island. It sounds amazing with all those whales! Has anyone done this? Any tips on the best time to go or what to expect?
Experience report: Pelagic Whale Watch Tour was a blast!
Just got back from the Pelagic Whale Watch Tour and WOW! We saw so many different types of whales, plus dolphins! The guides were so passionate and told us a ton about what we were seeing. Make sure to take a camera, you won’t regret it. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the Big Island!
