Q&A

Q: What should we wear for the Big Island Volcano Adventure? Is it cold near the volcano?

A: Definitely wear layers! It can get chilly near Kilauea and at higher elevations, but you'll warm up as you hike through the rainforests. I'd suggest a light jacket or hoodie, comfortable walking shoes, and maybe a hat to shield from the sun. Don't forget sunscreen, too!

Q: Can we reschedule if the weather is bad? What’s the policy?

A: Yes, absolutely! If the weather is unsafe, they’ll work with you to reschedule your tour, typically to a later date that works for both of you. Just be sure to give them a call if the weather is iffy! They’re really accommodating.

Q: Is this tour good for kids? What ages do you think would enjoy it?

A: It’s a fantastic experience for kids, especially if they’re old enough to enjoy hiking and exploring! I’d say kids ages 8 and up would really appreciate it, but younger ones can enjoy it too as long as they’re up for some walking and adventure. Just make sure they’re dressed for the weather!

Amazing Tour on the Big Island - Worth Every Penny!

Just got back from the Big Island Volcano Adventure and wow, it was incredible! We saw the most stunning waterfalls along the Hamakua Coast and even got to check out some lava fields at Kilauea. The tour was super small and personalized, which made it feel special. They provided us a picnic lunch that was honestly delicious! Totally recommend this for anyone visiting Hawaii, especially if you’re into nature and adventure. We booked through The Volcano Van and they were awesome!

Considering the Big Island Volcano Adventure as a gift

I’m thinking of getting the Big Island Volcano Adventure for my partner’s birthday. He loves hiking and nature, but I’m worried about how tough the hike is. Can anyone who’s done it share their thoughts? Is it suitable for someone who’s not a super experienced hiker?
