Two wheels and a thirst for adventure are all you’ll need when you ride a Pedego Electric Bike around Amelia Island. Take this self-guided and customizable tour starting at Pedego Amelia and cruise your way through seven miles of natural bliss to Big Talbot Island State Park. The trail is full of stunning scenery, and you might see a few of the local wildlife along the ride. A smart helmet is included with the self-guided tour. The helmet allows you to talk to everyone in your group and you can link it to music on your phone if you would like to. Since you are not with a tour group, this tour is customizable and additional stops can be recommended at the bike shop. The tour route is EASY to follow, and full written directions will be reviewed at Pedego Amelia. Note: All participants must be able to safely ride a bike and certify that they have done so in the past 5 years. We require an in-store deposit using a chip card for all rentals.

Q: Is there an age limit for participating in the self-guided tour?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but everyone needs to be able to ride a bike safely. Kids that can ride confidently should be okay, just keep in mind the bikes are a bit larger. It's a perfect family outing, and my 12-year-old had a blast! Just be sure to check with the shop if you have younger kids to see if they have suitable bikes.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the tour?

A: If the weather doesn't cooperate, you can usually reschedule for another day. Just give them a call at Pedego Amelia for the best options. They want everyone to have a great experience, so they’re pretty flexible! When I went, we had perfect weather, but I saw other folks chatting about rescheduling due to rain.

Q: Is parking easy at Pedego Amelia? I’m coming from out of town.

A: Yeah, parking is pretty simple! There’s a lot right by the shop, and you shouldn’t have any issues finding a spot. I drove in from Jacksonville, and it was super convenient. Just get there a little early to grab your bike and go over the trail map!

I’m considering this tour for my partner's birthday, and it sounds amazing! I love that it’s self-guided since we can take our time. Is the biking really easy? Any must-see spots along the way? Also, how do the smart helmets work? I want to make sure he enjoys it!

Just did the Big Talbot Island tour, and it was epic!

I just got back from the tour with some friends, and wow! The electric bikes are so much fun! The trail was perfect for cruising, and we saw some dolphins from the shore. The helmets made it easy to talk and share music too. Totally recommend it for anyone looking for a fun day out!
