Q&A
A: Great question! The Black Food Tour is family-friendly, so kids are definitely welcome. Just keep in mind that some food items could be adventurous for younger taste buds. It’s a fun way for everyone to learn about the culture and history of Oakland while enjoying some delicious food!
A: If your tour gets canceled because there are less than 4 people, you'll be notified a few days in advance. You can either reschedule for a later date or opt for a refund. Just make sure to book at least a week in advance to avoid any issues!
A: Comfort is key! You'll be walking between restaurants, so wear something casual and comfy—sneakers are a good idea. Also, check the weather because you want to be prepared if it rains or gets chilly. Layers always work well in Oakland!

Thinking of gifting the Black Food Tour - anyone done it?
I’m considering booking the Black Food Tour for my brother's birthday next month! The idea of exploring 5 Black-owned restaurants in Oakland sounds amazing. I love that it includes a local guide who knows the history, too. Just wondering, can I customize the food stops if we have dietary restrictions? Has anyone tried this, and how was the experience?
Just went on the Black Food Tour - Here’s my recap!
I went on the Black Food Tour last weekend and it was incredible! We visited these amazing spots that I’d never heard of before. The tour guide shared cool stories about each restaurant and the food was delicious! My favorite was the soul food place we stopped at. Pro tip: come hungry because there’s a ton of food!
