Q&A

Q: What should we wear for the biplane ride? Is it chilly up there?

A: Great question! It can get a bit breezy up there, so I recommend wearing layers. A light jacket or hoodie is perfect, especially if you're going in the early morning or later afternoon. Don't forget closed-toed shoes since you'll be climbing up into the biplane. The retro goggles and cap make it a fun experience!

Q: Is there an age limit for this tour? My kids are 10 and 12.

A: Yes, kids can definitely join in! There's no strict age limit, but they do need to be able to fit securely in the seat and have a combined weight with the other passenger of up to 400 lbs. It’s a super fun ride for families, and kids often love the thrill of flying in an open cockpit!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule easily?

A: They’re pretty flexible with rescheduling if the weather’s not cooperating, like high winds or heavy rain. You’ll just need to give them a heads-up, and they’ll work with you to find a new time. Just keep an eye on the forecast before your scheduled ride!

Just booked the Bolivar Lighthouse Tour – so stoked!

I just booked the biplane ride over Galveston to see the Bolivar Lighthouse! I can't believe it's one of only two iron lighthouses in Texas. I’m really excited about flying in an open cockpit. I've heard from friends that the views are incredible, especially over East Beach. Planning to take my partner, but now I'm wondering what I should wear to stay comfy up there. Any tips?

Thinking of gifting the Bolivar Lighthouse Tour!

I’m brainstorming some unique gifts for my parents' anniversary. They love historical stuff and are into adventurous experiences. I think this biplane ride over the Bolivar Lighthouse would be perfect! They’ve never been in a plane like this before, and it looks fun. Has anyone else given this as a gift? Any feedback on their experience?
