This private day tour is the perfect way to get to know Boston & Cambridge at a leisurely pace. It's a combination of walking and driving (although can be driving only if you prefer). We start with a walking tour of parts of the Freedom Trail, stopping at some of the city's most significant sites. We'll then drive in and out of the other city neighborhoods, Beacon Hill, Back Bay and Seaport and finish out the Freedom Trail with a stop at Bunker Hill. Then it's across the Charles River to Cambridge, where we drive around the MIT campus, and onto Harvard for a walking tour of the oldest college in the country. We'll share lots of history and legends but also keep it topical with current day fun facts and light hearted stories. After the walk you'll need some lunch and we know some great spots (not included in price of tour). All guides are fully licensed and approved Boston tour guides, driving luxury and livery insured vehicles. Group pricing for +4 available, please message.

Q&A

Q: Is there a lot of walking involved, or can we just drive the whole tour?

A: You can definitely customize the tour to your liking! The default includes both walking and driving, especially along the Freedom Trail, but if you prefer to drive the whole time, just let your guide know. They’re super flexible and can adjust based on your group's comfort level.

Q: What’s the best time of year to do this tour? I’m worried about weather issues.

A: Spring and fall are usually the best! The weather is mild and you can enjoy the sights without freezing or sweating buckets. Just keep an eye on the forecast closer to your date. If it rains, they might offer you a reschedule or a partial refund, but it's good to check that policy when you book.

Q: I want to buy this for my parents. Are there age limits or is it suitable for older folks?

A: This tour is great for all ages! The guides are experienced in accommodating everyone, including older adults. Just make sure to let them know if anyone in your party has difficulty walking or any other needs. They can tailor the pace and activities to fit your parents' comfort level. Also, the vehicle is air-conditioned, which is a plus!

Thinking of gifting the Boston and Cambridge tour – any tips?

I’m considering this private day tour for my sister's birthday next month. She loves history and enjoys walking around. I’m wondering if it’s flexible enough for someone who may not be able to walk a lot? Also, is it worth the money? What was your experience like? Any must-see spots?

Just went on the Boston and Cambridge tour – here’s my experience!

I took the Boston and Cambridge private day tour last weekend, and it was fantastic! The drive through Beacon Hill and Back Bay was breathtaking, and the guides had so many fun facts. The walking part at Freedom Trail brought back so much history. If you’re worried about lunch, they suggested some great spots nearby. Totally worth it!
