Q&A

Q: What happens if it rains on the day of the trip?

A: If it rains, the tour usually goes ahead as planned since most of the activities are indoors, like The Breakers and Marble House. They do keep an eye on the weather though, so if it looks really bad, they might cancel or reschedule. You can always check with them a day or two in advance to be sure. Just bring an umbrella, just in case!

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this trip?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids should be able to sit through the narrated tour and enjoy the mansions. A lot of families take this trip, and kids above 10 usually find it interesting. It's a great way for them to learn some history!

Q: How hard is it to find parking if we drive instead of taking the bus?

A: Parking can be tricky in Newport, especially in the summer months. There are a few parking lots near the attractions, but they fill up fast. I'd recommend using public transport or the bus option if you can. If you do drive, try to arrive early to snag a spot!

Planning a trip to Newport from Boston - any tips?

I’m thinking of gifting this Boston to Newport day trip to my parents! They love history and the mansions sound amazing. Has anyone done this? What’s the best part of the trip? Do you recommend this for older folks? Any must-see spots during the free time?

Just got back from the Newport day trip - worth it!

Just wanted to share my recent experience on the Boston to Newport trip. The guided tour was super informative, and the views during the bus ride were picturesque! The Breakers mansion blew my mind. I also loved having 2 hours to roam around Newport. Would totally recommend it to anyone looking to explore.
