The former Bruckmann Brewery complex in Cincinnati is one of the most complete 19th brewery sites in the country. Brewing began at this location in 1856 and continued for nearly 100 years. Most major components of the brewery are still in existence including the brewhouse, malthouse, bottling building, stables, family home, power plant, and the underground lagering cellars! After brewing operations ceased in 1950, much of the site was repurposed for other businesses including the Fountain Winery in the 1970s and the headquarters and production facility of the Worthmore Food Products Company, who specialized in producing Cincinnati style chili and mock turtle soup. This site has not been open to tours before and the Brewing Heritage Trail has put a lot of work into repairing the site, so that we can bring guests inside several of the buildings and into the underground lagering cellars. Don't miss out on this unique experience offered only by our non-profit organization!

Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for the Bruckmann Brewery History Tour?

A: Yes, the tour is mostly for adults since it's a drinking tour! However, those under 21 can still join but won't receive a beer. They’ll love the history and the sights of the brewery, though!

Q: What should we wear for the brewery tour? Is it indoors or outdoors?

A: The tour is mostly indoors, but some parts are in old buildings, so definitely wear comfortable shoes! It's not super formal, but I’d suggest avoiding flip-flops just in case. Layering is also good since the cellars can be a bit chilly.

Q: How often do they run the tours, and do we need to book in advance?

A: Tours typically run on weekends and they can get pretty busy, especially since it’s a new experience! I’d recommend booking at least a week in advance to secure your spot. The tickets are free, but they fill up fast!

Hey everyone! I just secured my spot for the Bruckmann Brewery History Tour in Cincinnati next month. I’m super excited since I’ve heard it’s one of the best preserved brewery sites around. Also, they’re including a beer with the ticket, which is a nice bonus! Anyone have tips or things I should know before I go?

Thinking of gifting the Bruckmann Brewery tour, thoughts?

I’m considering the Bruckmann Brewery History Tour as a gift for my dad’s birthday. He loves history and beer, so this seems perfect! But I’m not sure if it’s suitable for all ages, and what the best time to go might be. Anyone with experience that can help me out?
