Q&A
A: There's no strict age limit, but kids under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult. It’s really fun for families! Just make sure everyone wears a life jacket. You can rent those on-site too, so that's not an issue.
A: Yes! If the weather is bad, they’ll usually let you reschedule your rental without any issues. Just be sure to call ahead to confirm. Lake Tahoe weather can be unpredictable, so it's always good to check before you go!
A: Parking can get a bit crowded during peak times, but there’s usually enough space. You can find a lot near the lodges. Arriving early in the morning helps! Plus, it’s a beautiful area to explore while you wait.

Thinking about gifting a kayak rental at Camp Richardson, any tips?
Hey everyone! I’m considering gifting my sister and her boyfriend a kayak rental at Camp Richardson for their anniversary. They love being outdoors, and I think it’s such a cool experience. I love the old Tahoe vibe there too. What do you guys think? Any tips on what they should wear or bring?
Just rented kayaks at Camp Richardson! Here’s my experience.
Just got back from renting kayaks at Camp Richardson. OMG, what a beautiful place! The historic lodge is super charming, and the lake was perfect. They provided a quick demo before we hit the water, which was great for my friend, who was a bit nervous. We had such a fun time paddling around. Highly recommend it!
