Q&A
A: You’ll want to dress in layers since it can get chilly by the water, even in summer. Comfortable shoes are a must since you'll be walking a bit! It’s also a good idea to bring a light jacket or sweater. Don’t forget sunblock if you’re sensitive to sun!
A: While there's a good chance you'll see sea otters near Cannery Row, it’s not guaranteed since they are wild animals. However, your guide will take you to the best spots for viewing them! I saw a whole group playing last time I went.
A: Absolutely! The tour is very accessible and the guides are great about keeping a pace that works for everyone. There are some resting spots along the way too, so it’s not a race. Perfect for casual walkers who enjoy a bit of history and nature!

Just got back from the Cannery Row tour and it was amazing!
I took the Cannery Row: Sardines, Steinbeck and Sea Otters tour last weekend, and wow, it was a blast! Our guide was super knowledgeable about Steinbeck and the area. We got to see real sea otters playing around, which totally made my day! Highly recommend it for anyone in Monterey. Also, the stories about the sardine canneries were so interesting. It's a must-do if you're visiting!
Thinking of gifting the Cannery Row tour—thoughts?
I’m looking to get this Cannery Row tour as a gift for my parents. They love history and nature, but not sure if they’ll enjoy a walking tour. Has anyone done this? How was the pacing? Any tips I should consider?
