Q&A

Q: Are there any age limits for the bike rentals, and what if my kid is under 14?

A: Yes, there are age limits for the bike rentals. If your child is under 14, they are required to wear a helmet, which is provided for free on request. You can also rent child bikes, trailers, or seats to accommodate younger passengers. It’s a fun family activity, and you’ll all get to explore Central Park and other landmarks safely!

Q: Can you reschedule if the weather’s bad? How does that work?

A: Absolutely! You can reschedule for any reason, including bad weather, at no additional cost. Just make sure to reach out to them as soon as you know you need to change your plans. It’s super flexible, which is great for NYC's unpredictable weather!

Q: What’s the best way to park if I’m driving to the rental location?

A: Parking in NYC can be tricky, but there are several garages nearby that offer reasonable rates. I recommend checking apps like ParkWhiz or SpotHero to find a good deal ahead of time. If you’re close enough to public transport, taking the subway to the rental shop might also be a good option to avoid parking stress!

Thinking of gifting a Central Park bike rental, any tips?

I’m considering getting a Central Park bike rental experience for my sister’s birthday. She's not super athletic but loves to explore. Has anyone done this? What was the bike like? Any recommendations on routes? I heard you can see the Brooklyn Bridge, but how far is that from the starting point?

Just did the bike rental in NYC, and it was awesome!

I took my family on a bike rental through Central Park last weekend. We rented bikes from Bike Rent NYC, and it was such a blast! The bikes were brand new, and the map they provided was super helpful. We cycled past the Empire State Building and stopped for ice cream in Bryant Park. Definitely recommend this experience if you're looking for a fun way to see the city!
