The inlets, sounds, bays, tidal creeks, marsh grass and oyster banks in our area make Charleston one of the top inshore fishing destinations on the East Coast, and for very good reason. With over slot redfish tailing in the grass to doormat flounder being pulled from the muddy bottom, our inshore charter is sure to inspire you to come back to our beautiful estuaries. That is why inshore charters are our specialty! Flounder, speckled sea trout, lady fish, or black drum are also popular amongst inshore anglers. Seasickness, big waves and wind are minimal for inshore charters, so these trips are perfect for families who do not want to deal with the harsh elements the sea can offer. While on your Charleston inshore fishing trip, you can expect to see more than just the fish we are targeting. Dolphins, manatees, sea turtles and otters frequent the area and often come close to our boats.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this fishing charter?

A: There's no specific age limit, but the charter is really great for families! Kids of all ages are welcome, just make sure they’re comfortable and can follow instructions from the guide. My 8-year-old had a blast catching fish and spotting dolphins. Just check with the provider beforehand if you have very young kids.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of our charter?

A: If the weather isn't safe for fishing, the charter will usually reschedule your trip for another day. They’ll contact you ahead of time to make sure you’re aware. It’s always good to check the forecast the day before and talk to them directly about any concerns. They seem really flexible!

Q: What should we wear for the fishing charter?

A: Dress in layers! It's usually cooler in the morning and warms up by noon. Lightweight, breathable clothing is best. Don't forget a hat and sunglasses for sun protection. If you’re prone to getting cold, maybe bring a light jacket. And definitely wear closed-toe shoes—those flip-flops won’t cut it on a boat!

Thinking about buying the Charleston Inshore Fishing Charter for my dad's birthday!

I’m considering this fishing charter in Mount Pleasant for my dad's birthday next month. He loves fishing but has never tried inshore fishing. I think it’ll be cool for him to see dolphins too! Anyone done this? What’s the vibe like? Should I be worried about him getting seasick? He's in decent shape, but I know he can get a bit queasy on the water.

Had an awesome day on the Charleston Inshore Fishing Charter!

Just got back from the fishing charter yesterday, and wow, what a great experience! The guide was super friendly and helped us catch some nice flounder and sea trout. Plus, we saw dolphins swimming alongside the boat! Totally worth it. Pro tip: bring a cooler with snacks and drinks. You’ll get thirsty out there!
