Chesapeake Windsail Tours, a division of Chesapeake Windsail Cruises, is offering a wonderful way to enjoy Chesapeake Beach, with a stroll back into time down the old railway trail that once brought visitors from Washington DC, Baltimore and other destinations to the beaches. You will enjoy the peace and quiet of the marshland off Fishing Creek, where you will have many opportunities to photograph the habitat of the Chesapeake Bay region. You will visit the site where the war heroes of Chesapeake Beach are honored. This tour will end with a visit inside the Chesapeake Railway Museum. Learn about life in the early 20th century, before the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and why people came down to visit and to stay here. These are just a few of the sights on this tour. We are not responsible for the operation hours of the museum. You must call 24 hours before your tour time to see if the minimum requirement of 4 walkers has been met.

Q&A

Q: Is there a minimum age for kids to join this walking tour?

A: There's actually no strict minimum age for the tour! Kids are welcome, but younger ones might need some encouragement to walk the whole trail. Just be prepared for about 1.5 to 2 hours of walking. It could be a fun family outing if your kids are up for it!

Q: What should we wear for this walking tour? Is it casual?

A: Definitely keep it casual! Just wear comfy shoes since you'll be walking on the trail. I recommend dressing in layers too, since the weather can change quickly around the Chesapeake. And don't forget your sunscreen!

Q: Can the tour be rescheduled if the weather looks bad?

A: Yes, you can reschedule! If the weather’s really bad, they’ll contact you to discuss options. Just make sure to call them 24 hours before your scheduled tour to see if it’s still on. They’re pretty flexible, but double-checking is always a good plan.
