Nightly Spirits’ Haunts and Hooligans Tour will illustrate Chicago’s haunted history of secret parlors, underground tunnels, murderous movie theaters and supernatural speakeasies. Whether you’re a recent transplant to Chicago or have lived among the Windy City’s ‘others’ for years, you’re about to get a haunted history that may leave you with more memories than you dare to retain.   Tours begin at the haunted Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse in downtown Chicago. A costumed guide will lead tour goers on a walking journey exploring the creepy past of one of Chicago’s most famous bootleggers, offering glimpses into the past and revealing the stories of long-dead phantoms and specters who still call Chicago home.

Q&A

Q: Is there a minimum age for the Haunts and Hooligans Tour?

A: Yes, the Haunts and Hooligans Tour is recommended for ages 21 and up since it includes stops at bars and talks about Chicago's speakeasy history. However, I brought my 18-year-old sister on the tour, and they didn’t check IDs. Just double-check with the vendor if you're in doubt!

Q: What should we wear for the tour? Is it mostly outdoors?

A: Definitely dress comfortably! The tour is mostly outdoors, so wear shoes you can walk in for a while. A light jacket is a good idea since it gets chilly at night, especially near the lake. And don’t forget to bring a camera—lots of cool photo ops with the historic buildings!

Q: How do we handle rescheduling if something comes up?

A: If you need to reschedule, the Nightly Spirits team is pretty flexible. Just give them a call or email at least 24 hours in advance, and they can help you find another date. I've had to do it once, and they were really accommodating!

Just did the Haunts and Hooligans Tour and it was AMAZING!

I just got back from the Haunts and Hooligans Tour led by Nightly Spirits, and wow, it was such a fun experience! We started at Harry Caray’s, which is haunted, obviously, and our guide was in character the whole time. I loved learning about the creepy history of the city, and the underground tunnels were super eerie. Perfect for anyone who loves ghost stories or just wants a unique night out in Chicago. Also, bring a friend—it makes it so much better!

Thinking about buying the Haunts and Hooligans Tour for my boyfriend!

Hey everyone! I’m considering this tour for my boyfriend’s birthday because he’s really into ghost stuff. I saw it starts at Harry Caray’s, which is cool. Anyone think this is a good choice? How was the vibe? Any tips on making it a special night?
