Q&A
A: Great question! There's no official age limit, but it's recommended for kids ages 5 and up since the tour covers architectural details that may not interest younger children. You can bring younger kids, but be prepared to keep them engaged. It’s a fun experience for the whole family, especially if they enjoy stories about buildings!
A: Parking can be a bit tricky in downtown Chicago, especially during peak hours. There's a lot of paid parking garages nearby, but it can get pricey, around $20-$30 for a few hours. I recommend using public transport if you can. Otherwise, arrive early to secure a spot!
A: Dress comfortably! Layering is key since you might start outdoors and then go indoors. The indoor seating is climate controlled, which is nice. Just remember that it can get windy on the river, so a light jacket is a good idea. Also, wear comfortable shoes since some parts involve walking before boarding.

Just did the Chicago River architecture tour—amazing experience!
Hey everyone! I just went on the Chicago River Architecture Tour with Wendella Tours and it was awesome! We had a great guide who shared so many cool stories about the buildings. The boat had both indoor and outdoor seating, which was great since the weather was a bit windy. I actually bought this as a birthday gift for my friend and it turned out to be the perfect choice. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for something unique to do in Chicago!
Thinking of gifting the architecture tour to my architect friend!
Hi all! I want to get my friend who’s an architect the Chicago River 90-Minute Architecture Tour for his birthday. He’s a huge fan of Chicago’s skyline and I think he’d really enjoy the stories behind the buildings. Does anyone have tips on the best time to go or anything else I should know before booking?
