Q&A
A: No specific age restrictions, but I'd recommend it for kids 5 and up since the ride can get bumpy. They provide outerwear and blankets, which is great for the little ones. Just make sure they can sit still for the duration of the ride! Also, bring some snacks for them if they have specific tastes.
A: Dress in layers! It can get chilly on the river, especially with the wind. They provide outerwear, but I'd recommend a warm base layer and a hat just in case. Waterproof shoes are also a plus because you might get splashed!
A: They monitor weather conditions closely. If it's unsafe, they will reschedule or refund your booking. Just be aware that Alaska weather can change quickly, so try to be flexible with your plans. It’s best to call ahead if you have concerns!

Incredible Wildlife Adventure on the Chilkat River!
I just got back from the Chilkat River Jet-Boat Adventure, and wow, what a trip! The drive on the Haines Scenic Byway was gorgeous, and our guide shared some cool stories about the local history. The river ride was thrilling, and we saw a couple of bald eagles and even a moose! Plus, the riverside picnic with coffee/tea was lovely too. I highly recommend this for anyone visiting Skagway! Can’t wait to share pics!
Considering the Chilkat River Jet-Boat as a Gift, Need Advice!
I’m looking at getting the Chilkat River Jet-Boat adventure as a gift for my partner. They love nature and wildlife, but I’m a bit worried about how long the trip is and if it’ll be worth it. Anyone have experiences to share? Would it be good for someone who's not super adventurous?
