Q&A
A: There's no official age limit, but kids should be at least 5 years old to enjoy the ride safely. The guides are great with families, and they provide all necessary gear. Just be prepared for some bumps since it’s a jet-boat ride in wilderness conditions. Also, the picnic afterward is kid-friendly, so they'll have a blast!
A: The best time is usually late spring to early fall. In late May and June, the moose are often spotted, and bears come out in July and August. The guides know all the right spots, so they’ll help maximize your chances. Just remember, wildlife isn't guaranteed, but it’s exciting regardless!
A: The weather can be unpredictable in Haines, so dress in layers! They provide outerwear and blankets, but wearing something warm underneath is smart. Waterproof shoes are also a plus since it can get splashed. And don't forget your sunglasses for the glare off the water!

Just got back from the Chilkat River Jet-Boat Adventure!
Wow, what an amazing experience! We went last weekend and took the 2pm tour. The ride through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve was breathtaking! Our guide shared some cool stories about the area’s history. We saw a couple of moose from a distance, which was a highlight. The picnic by the river was a nice touch too. I’d totally recommend this as a gift for anyone who loves the outdoors!
Considering gifting the jet-boat tour, but worried about weather
Hey everyone, I’m looking into the jet-boat adventure for my brother’s birthday. I’m worried about how weather could affect it. Do they cancel often? And if so, what’s the policy? I really want it to be a great experience!
