Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this kayaking experience? I'm thinking of gifting it to my teenage son.

A: Great question! The kayaking experience at Chilkoot Lake is suitable for most ages, but kids under 12 will need to be accompanied by an adult. It’s a pretty calm lake, so it should be perfect for teens. Just make sure they’re comfortable in the water!

Q: What if the weather is bad? Can you reschedule the trip?

A: Yes! Safety is a priority, so if the weather doesn’t cooperate, they’ll work with you to reschedule your kayaking trip. Just keep an eye on the forecast, and they’ll help you find a good day.

Q: What do we need to wear or bring for the kayaking trip?

A: Wear quick-dry clothes and bring a light jacket since it can get chilly on the water. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat! They provide life jackets, but check if you need any specific gear. Comfortable shoes are a must, too!

Thinking about gifting the Chilkoot Lake Kayaking experience!

Hey everyone! I’m considering this kayaking experience in Haines for my boyfriend’s birthday. He loves the outdoors, and the idea of paddling in a pristine mountain lake sounds awesome! The transfer from Skagway seems convenient too. Has anyone done this? Any tips or things I should know?

Can anyone share their experience with Chilkoot Lake Kayaking?

I’m considering gifting this experience to my sister’s family. Sounds like a great way to spend a day! Just wondering about the kids' experience and how demanding the kayaking is. Any thoughts?
