Q&A

Q: What should I wear for the whale watching cruise? Is it cold on the water?

A: Definitely dress in layers! It can get chilly on the water, especially if it's windy. I'd recommend a light jacket and maybe a hat. Also, don’t forget sunglasses and sunscreen because the sun can be strong out there! Comfortable shoes are a must since the boat can be a little rocky at times.

Q: Can I reschedule if the weather looks bad?

A: Yes, you can reschedule! If the cruise gets canceled due to weather, they usually allow you to pick another date. Just make sure to check their policy on their website or call them directly. It's super helpful to keep options open, especially in New England where the weather can be unpredictable.

Q: What’s the best age for kids to go on this cruise?

A: I think kids around 5 and up would really enjoy this! They need to be able to listen to the naturalist and stay safe on the boat. Younger kids might get bored or feel a bit scared with the waves. The crew is super accommodating, so if you bring younger ones, just be prepared to keep an eye on them. It’s definitely a fun family experience!

Just did the whale watching cruise in Boston and WOW!

I went on the City Cruises Boston whale watching tour last weekend and it was absolutely amazing! We saw humpback whales breaching and even some dolphins swimming alongside the boat. The naturalist was super knowledgeable and shared cool facts about the whales and the Stellwagen Bank. Just keep in mind, it can get a bit windy and chilly out there. Totally worth the $65 bucks! Highly recommend as a gift for anyone who loves nature.

Thinking of gifting the whale watching cruise!

I’m looking to get this whale watching experience for my parents’ anniversary. They both love the ocean but have never been on a cruise like this. Is there anything I should know before buying? Like do they need to be fit to enjoy it, or can older folks manage?
