Q&A

Q: Is there a time limit for how long we can stay in Colonial Williamsburg? Can we explore at our own pace?

A: You can explore Colonial Williamsburg at your own pace! There’s no strict time limit for your visit. Since the admission allows you to roam the 300 acres, you can spend as much time as you like at the historic sites and museums, and come back for the staged performances if needed. Just check the daily schedule for any specific showtimes you're interested in!

Q: What’s the best time of year to visit Colonial Williamsburg? Are there any special events?

A: The best times to visit are usually spring and fall when the weather is milder. They host a lot of special events, especially around Independence Day. If you’re planning a visit, check their calendar for reenactments and festivals. Fall is especially beautiful with the leaves changing too!

Q: Are children allowed to participate in the hands-on activities? Is it good for families?

A: Absolutely! Colonial Williamsburg is super family-friendly. Kids can participate in lots of hands-on activities, like learning crafts from the tradespeople. They’ll love the interactive experiences and there are also kid-friendly performances. It’s great for a family day out!

Thinking of taking my parents to Colonial Williamsburg – any tips?

I’m looking to buy tickets for my parents’ anniversary. They love history and the outdoors, and I think Colonial Williamsburg would be perfect! I heard about the 18th-century city and live performances. Has anyone been recently? Any tips on what they should definitely see or do? Also, what’s parking like?

Just got back from Colonial Williamsburg – amazing experience!

I took my family to Colonial Williamsburg last month and it was fantastic! We loved the staged performances and talking to the tradespeople. The guided tours were super informative. We especially enjoyed exploring the Capitol and the Courthouse. I can't recommend it enough! Anyone else been recently?
