Q&A

Q: What's the best time to go for this Birds of Prey experience? I'm trying to plan a gift for my dad's birthday.

A: The best time for this experience is definitely during the mid-winter months when nesting raptors are most active! Dr. Ryan usually runs these tours from December to February, so you should plan accordingly. Just check the local weather as well, since winter storms can sometimes affect the schedule.

Q: Is this experience suitable for kids? My 10-year-old is obsessed with eagles!

A: Yes, this experience is definitely kid-friendly! Dr. Ryan is great with younger participants and makes sure everyone is engaged. Just keep in mind that the day involves a lot of walking, so your child should be up for that. Also, they might need a bit of patience while waiting for sightings!

Q: What should we wear for this birding experience in winter? Any tips?

A: Definitely dress in layers! You’ll want a good base layer, a warm sweater, and a waterproof jacket. Don’t forget a hat and gloves since you may be outside for a while. Good hiking boots are a must too, as some areas might be a bit muddy or snowy.

Just went on the Colorado Birds of Prey tour and it was epic!

I took the full-day raptor identification course with Dr. Ryan last week and wow, it was such a great experience! We traveled to a few nature reserves around Denver and got to see some amazing birds, including a Golden Eagle and a Bald Eagle! Plus, the lunch they provided was super tasty. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone who loves nature and birds. Perfect gift for the holidays!

Considering gifting the Birds of Prey tour, but I have some doubts

I’m thinking about getting this as a gift for my bird-loving partner, but I’m worried about the weather in mid-winter. What if it snows or rains? Has anyone experienced cancellations? Also, how difficult is the walking on the trails? Any feedback would be super helpful!
