Q&A
A: If the weather's not cooperating, they usually reschedule the excursion for another date. The guide will check the forecast beforehand, so you won't be stuck in the rain. If they can’t find a suitable day for you, they’ll work with you on a refund too. Just keep an eye on your email for updates!
A: Great question! There’s no strict age limit, but kids 8 and up usually enjoy it the most. Just keep in mind that it’s a late-night outing, so younger kids might be tired. If you’re bringing younger ones, just check with the provider to make sure everyone will have a good time!
A: Parking is pretty straightforward! You’ll park at the pick-up location in Salt Lake City, and then the guide drives you up to the observatory. It’s all part of the package, so you don’t have to worry about navigating the mountain roads or finding a spot in Huntsville. Just make sure you arrive a bit early!

Just booked the Compass Rose Dark Sky Excursion! Any tips?
I’m so excited! I just booked the Compass Rose Dark Sky Excursion for next month. I’ve heard the views of the Milky Way are amazing! I’m curious though, what should I wear? Is it cold up in Huntsville at night? Also, how intense is the stargazing for beginners? I’m a total newbie!

I went on the Compass Rose Dark Sky Excursion last month, and wow! The stars were so bright—like, you could see the Andromeda Galaxy with your own eyes. The guide was super knowledgeable too, which made it even better. Just a heads up, definitely wear warm clothes and be ready to stay up late! Anyone else have a similar experience?
