Q&A

Q: Is there a minimum age for kids on this walking tour?

A: There's actually no strict age limit, but the tour is mostly geared towards teens and adults. That said, younger kids can enjoy it too, especially if they're interested in history. Just keep in mind the walking involved—there’s quite a bit of it, so strollers might be tough in some areas.

Q: What are the parking options near the Basilica and Cathedral?

A: Parking can be challenging, especially near the Basilica and Cathedral on weekends. I'd recommend using a parking app to find spots ahead of time, or look for garages in the area. If possible, consider using public transport since the DC Metro gets you pretty close to those sites!

Q: If it rains, do they still do the tour?

A: Yeah, the tour goes on rain or shine! They’ll adjust the route a bit if necessary, but you'll still get to see all the main spots. Just bring an umbrella or a raincoat to stay comfortable. The guide usually has extra ponchos too if you forget!

Just finished the Contrasts of D.C. tour and wow!

I just got back from the Contrasts of D.C. tour and it was incredible! Our guide took us through some of the lesser-known neighborhoods and ended at Georgetown. The Basilica was stunning, and I learned so much about the architecture. I highly recommend this for anyone who’s into history or just wants to see a different side of D.C. It’s kind of surreal walking around Embassy Row too!

Thinking of giving this tour as a gift!

I’m considering this Contrasts of D.C. tour for my sister’s birthday. She loves history and exploring new places. Do you think the private aspect makes it better? Also, is it flexible with timing? I want it to be a good experience!
