We provide a top-quality rental experience at a competitive price, which Includes all fees! Free parking, safety equipment, and city launch fee. All at no extra cost! Crystal River is home to one of the largest manatee populations in the world. During the winter months hundreds of manatees congregate in the springs and you can't beat viewing these amazing animals up close from a stand up paddle board or kayak. Although Manatee season is during the winter time, resident manatees can still be spotted in the waterways year round. King’s Bay has more to offer than just manatees however, so whatever the time of year we'd love to get you out on the water to explore it! We have an excellent map so you can navigate the bay easily and save money by not paying for a guide. We will go over the map with you in detail before launch so you know how to get to the springs and where to look for manatees.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids to go on this kayak rental?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but they recommend that kids be at least 5 years old to have a good experience. All kids will need to wear a life jacket. If you’re bringing younger ones, it might be nice to have an adult paddle alongside them to help steer if necessary!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day we booked?

A: If the weather's really bad, they’ll contact you to reschedule. Just keep an eye on the forecast, and if it looks sketchy, give them a call. They’re flexible about changing dates, so don’t stress too much!

Q: Can you see manatees year-round or only during certain times?

A: You can see manatees year-round, but the best time is definitely winter when they gather in the springs. Even in off-peak times, though, there’s still a chance to spot them, just maybe not as many! It's a unique experience anytime you go.

Thinking of gifting the Crystal River Kayak rental – anyone tried it?

I’m considering this kayak rental for my sister's birthday. She loves nature and I heard the manatees are amazing! Just curious about what to expect. Do you really get to see them up close? Also, is it a chill paddle or more for experienced kayakers? I want her to enjoy it!

Just got back from kayaking in Crystal River – incredible experience!

I did the single kayak rental last weekend, and it was awesome! The price is a steal for what you get. The map they give you is super helpful. We spotted three manatees and it was magical. Just make sure to wear sunscreen and pack some snacks if you go!
