We provide a top-quality rental experience at a competitive price, which Includes all fees! Free parking, safety equipment, and city launch fee. All at no extra cost! Crystal River is home to one of the largest manatee populations in the world. During the winter months hundreds of manatees congregate in the springs and you can't beat viewing these amazing animals up close from a stand up paddle board or kayak. Although Manatee season is during the winter time, resident manatees can still be spotted in the waterways year round. King’s Bay has more to offer than just manatees however, so whatever the time of year we'd love to get you out on the water to explore it! We have an excellent map so you can navigate the bay easily and save money by not paying for a guide. We will go over the map with you in detail before launch so you know how to get to the springs and where to look for manatees.

Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for kids to kayak? Can my 8-year-old join?

A: Kids can definitely enjoy kayaking, but I recommend checking with the rental place on any specific age requirements. Generally, if your 8-year-old can swim and you have a life jacket for them, they should be good to go! Just make sure they’re comfortable in the water and able to follow instructions.

Q: Is there a chance of cancellations due to weather? How does that work?

A: Yes, it can get canceled if the weather's really bad, but they usually try to contact you as soon as possible. If you're worried, just keep an eye on the forecast and maybe call them the day before to confirm. They'll often reschedule without a fee if you have to postpone!

Q: Do I need to wear special clothes for kayaking? What about shoes?

A: You don't need anything too fancy! I’d say wear a swimsuit or quick-dry clothes since you might get splashed. Water shoes or sandals with straps are perfect, just make sure they won’t come off easily. Avoid flip-flops; they can be a pain.

Thinking of gifting the Crystal River kayak rental! Anyone done this?

I've been looking at the single kayak rental for my partner's birthday. The idea of floating around and spotting manatees sounds incredible! Just curious about the experience – how was it? Any tips for first-timers? Is there ample parking at the location?

Is it worth it to rent a kayak in Crystal River?

I’m considering renting a kayak for the weekend, especially with all the manatees around. Has anyone done this recently? How easy was it to navigate the waters? I’ve never kayaked before, so I hope it’s not too hard!
