We provide a top-quality rental experience at a competitive price, which Includes all fees! Free parking, safety equipment, and city launch fee. All at no extra cost! Crystal River is home to one of the largest manatee populations in the world. During the winter months hundreds of manatees congregate in the springs and you can't beat viewing these amazing animals up close from a stand up paddle board or kayak. Although Manatee season is during the winter time, resident manatees can still be spotted in the waterways year round. King’s Bay has more to offer than just manatees however, so whatever the time of year we'd love to get you out on the water to explore it! We have an excellent map so you can navigate the bay easily and save money by not paying for a guide. We will go over the map with you in detail before launch so you know how to get to the springs and where to look for manatees.

Q&A

Q: Are there age limits for the tandem kayak rental? Can kids go?

A: Yes! Kids can definitely join in on the fun. Generally, children 5 and over are welcome, but it's best to check directly with Manatee Paddle for any specific requirements. They provide life jackets for all ages, so safety is covered! Make sure to bring snacks and sunscreen for a fun day on the water.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather looks sketchy, Manatee Paddle is pretty flexible with rescheduling. Just reach out to them as soon as you can, and they'll help you find a new time that works. It’s Florida, so storms can pop up, but they’ll keep you informed. Better safe than sorry, right?

Q: What's the best time to go if I want to see a lot of manatees?

A: Winter is definitely prime time for manatee sightings—December through March is the absolute best. They gather in the springs to stay warm, so you’ll see tons of them. If you can't go then, early mornings or late afternoons other times of the year can still be good for spotting resident manatees.

Thinking about gifting a kayaking experience in Crystal River - any tips?

I'm considering this tandem kayak rental for my friend's birthday. They love nature and I'm sure they'd enjoy seeing the manatees! I read that it’s in Crystal River, FL, and super convenient since it includes free parking and all the gear. Has anyone done this? How was the experience? Any tips on what to pack?

Did the kayak rental with my family... awesome experience!

Just got back from kayaking in Crystal River and wow, it was amazing! We saw at least five manatees, and the scenery was gorgeous. The map they provide is super helpful for finding the springs. Got to say, free parking was a nice bonus! Can't recommend it enough, especially for families.
