During the winter months hundreds of manatees congregate in the springs and you can't beat viewing these amazing animals up close from a stand up paddle board or kayak. Although Manatee season is during the winter time, resident manatees can still be spotted in the waterways year round. King’s Bay has more to offer than just manatees however, so whatever the time of year we'd love to get you out on the water to explore it! We have an excellent map so you can navigate the bay easily and save money by not paying for a guide. We will go over the map with you in detail before launch so you know how to get to the springs and where to look for manatees.

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but kids should be at least 5 years old to paddle with an adult. It's a fun family activity! Just make sure everyone can wear the life jackets properly. Also, keep an eye on younger kids as the water can get deep in spots.

A: If the weather’s really bad, like heavy rain or storms, they’ll reach out to you to reschedule. They’re pretty flexible with cancellations for safety reasons. Just keep an eye on the forecast before your trip!

A: Tandem kayaks are perfect for beginners! It’s pretty easy to get the hang of it, plus you have someone to help steer. Just follow the map they provide and take your time. You’ll see manatees in no time!

Just got back from the Crystal River kayak experience!

OMG, we had such a blast! We saw a bunch of manatees up close, the whole experience was just magical. The kayak was super easy to handle and the map they provided was really helpful. I highly recommend going early in the morning to avoid the crowd and get the best views.
