Q&A
A: There are no strict age limits for the tour! It's family-friendly, so kids are definitely welcome. However, it's a good idea to consider how young your kids are, since the tour lasts 7-8 hours. Just make sure they can handle the time in the van and enjoy being outdoors. They provide snacks and water, which helps!
A: Dress in layers! The weather in South Dakota can be unpredictable, so it's best to wear a light jacket and comfortable shoes. You'll be in and out of the van, and the terrain might be uneven at times. Also, don’t forget a hat and sunglasses for when you’re outside taking pictures. They provide blankets and umbrellas in the van too!
A: Weather can certainly impact the tour, especially during severe storms. If they have to cancel due to bad weather, they usually notify you in advance and provide options to reschedule or get a refund. Just be sure to check the forecast before your trip!

Just got back from the wildlife tour at Custer State Park!
OMG you guys, this tour was AMAZING! We saw so many buffalo, including adorable calves! The knowledge from our guide made it even better. We drove through the Wildlife Loop and Needles Highway for some breathtaking views. Pack snacks, they provide some, but you might want more for the long ride. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Rapid City!
Thinking of gifting this Custer State tour!
I'm considering this tour as a gift for my parents who love nature. They’ve never been to South Dakota! I’m a little worried about how they’ll handle the long duration, but I think they’d love the wildlife aspect. Any tips on making it special for them?
