Q&A

Q: What’s the age limit for kids on this whale watching trip?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids should be able to stay seated and follow safety instructions. It's a family-friendly experience, so we've seen kids as young as 3 enjoy it. Just keep in mind that younger kids might get tired or restless on the boat, especially if it’s a longer trip.

Q: How does the Cetacean Declaration work if we don't see any whales?

A: If you don't see any dolphins or whales on your trip, you can come back for free within a year! Just keep your original ticket or confirmation handy. It's a great way to ensure you get a chance to see those amazing creatures.

Q: What should we wear? Will it get cold out there?

A: It's a good idea to dress in layers! It can get chilly on the water, especially if the wind picks up. Bring a light jacket and some closed-toe shoes. Don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen too, as you'll be out in the open for a while.

Just went on the Dana Point whale watching trip—amazing experience!

I took the family out on Captain Dave's Dolphin & Whale Watching Safari last weekend, and it was unreal! We saw a pod of dolphins and even a humpback whale! The underwater viewing pods were such a cool feature. It really felt like we were in the ocean with them. The brownies were a nice touch too! Highly recommend for a family outing or a gift for someone who loves marine life.

Considering the whale watching trip for a friend's birthday—any thoughts?

I’m looking for a unique gift for my friend who loves the ocean. The Dana Point Dolphin and Whale Watching seems perfect, but does anyone know how the crowds are? I’d hate for it to be packed. Also, is there parking nearby?
