Q&A

Q: Are there any age limits for this guided tour at the National Gallery?

A: There aren't any specific age limits, but it's recommended for ages 12 and up since the tour includes art concepts that might not be engaging for younger kids. If you're thinking of bringing younger children, just be aware that it's a 2.5-hour tour and they may get restless. However, if they love art, they might really enjoy it!

Q: What if the weather's bad on the day of our tour?

A: The tour typically goes on rain or shine since the museum is indoors. If there's severe weather causing the museum to close, they usually contact you to reschedule. Just make sure to check your email before heading out!

Q: How's the parking situation near the National Gallery?

A: Parking can be tricky around the National Gallery, especially during weekends. There’s a parking garage nearby at 7th St NW, which is a good option, but expect to pay. Alternatively, you can take the Metro; the Smithsonian station is close!

Thinking of gifting this guided tour for my art-loving friend!

Hey everyone, I’m considering getting the semi-private guided tour of the National Gallery of Art for my friend’s birthday. She’s a huge art buff and I think it would be a perfect gift! Has anyone done this? How was the experience with the guide? Any tips on what to wear or prepare? Thanks!

Did the National Gallery tour, and it was amazing!

Just finished the guided tour at the National Gallery and wow! There were only 6 of us, and the guide was incredible. We saw works by Picasso and Monet, and the stories behind them were fascinating. Highly recommend this for anyone who loves art or even if you're just curious! A must-do in DC!
