Q&A
A: No age limits! The de Young is super family-friendly, so your 8-year-old will definitely enjoy it. They often have interactive exhibits that kids love. Just keep an eye on them in the sculpture garden, as some of the pieces are a bit fragile!
A: You can buy general admission tickets which allow you to visit on the day you choose. Just make sure to check if there are any special exhibitions going on that you want to see, as they might have their own ticketing.
A: Definitely wear comfy shoes! There’s a fair bit of walking, especially if you want to explore both the de Young and the Legion of Honor. I’d recommend layering too, since the weather can change in SF pretty quickly.

Planning a Day at the de Young Museum, Any Tips?
Hey everyone! I got a couple of general admission tickets for the de Young Museum in San Francisco. I’m super excited to explore the permanent collections and maybe check out the Hamon Observation Tower for some views. I’ve heard great things about the audio tour too! Anyone have tips on how to make the most of the visit? Also, how’s parking around Golden Gate Park?
Surprised by How Much Fun We Had at the de Young!
Just got back from visiting the de Young Museum, and wow, it was amazing! The collections of African and American art were stunning. We even went up to the observation tower—what a view of the Golden Gate Bridge! Definitely get the audio tour if you can; it really enhanced the experience. Highly recommend it as a gift for anyone into art.
