Q&A
A: The workshop is generally suitable for ages 12 and up, but younger participants can join if they’re with an adult. Just make sure they’re up for some hiking and learning about survival. It’s a pretty engaging experience, so the kids are likely to enjoy it!
A: Definitely wear layers! The weather can change quickly in Denali. A good pair of hiking boots is important too. You’ll get a rain jacket included, but I’d recommend wearing moisture-wicking clothes underneath. Trust me, you’ll want to be comfortable while learning how to identify edible plants!
A: Yes, you can reschedule! Just make sure to give them at least 48 hours notice. They’re pretty accommodating as long as you reach out in time. Always a good idea to have a backup plan, especially in Alaska.

Just booked the Denali Primitive Survival workshop!
I’m so excited! I booked this for my boyfriend's birthday. He’s really into survival skills and loves hiking. It’ll be a perfect gift since we’ll be in Denali for a week. I heard the guide is super knowledgeable and you actually get to try foraging for edible plants! Anyone done this? What should we expect?
Thinking of gifting the Denali Primitive Survival experience!
I’m considering this for my dad’s retirement gift. He’s always been a fan of ‘Into the Wild’ and loves hiking. I’m a bit worried about his fitness level, though. Is the hiking really easy? Anyone think this would be a good fit?
