Q&A
A: Yes, the tour is generally suitable for ages 12 and up due to the spooky content and themes. However, younger kids can attend with an adult. Just keep in mind that the stories can be intense, especially the history around the 1811 Slave Revolt. It’s best for teens and adults who enjoy ghost stories!
A: Definitely wear comfortable shoes since you'll be walking around the plantation grounds. It's mostly outside, and the Big House tour is indoors, but you'll want to dress for the weather. Layers are a good idea since it can get cool at night. And don’t forget a flashlight or your phone’s light for the darker areas!
A: Parking is generally straightforward at the plantation. There's a dedicated parking lot for visitors, but it can fill up quickly on weekends. If you're taking Uber or Lyft, just drop off near the entrance. Plan to arrive a little early to avoid the rush!

Thinking of booking the Haunted Ghost Tour at Destrehan - anyone been?
I’m considering getting my partner tickets for the Destrehan Plantation Haunted Ghost Tour for our anniversary. We both love spooky stuff! I read it’s 90 minutes long and you get to use EMF readers and dowsing rods, which sounds awesome. Just worried about the intensity of the stories—anyone think it’ll be too scary?
Just did the Destrehan Plantation ghost tour—so worth it!
I went on the Haunted Ghost Tour last weekend and it was AMAZING. Our guide, Jason, had such great stories about the plantation's history and the 1811 Slave Revolt. Using the dowsing rods was super cool! It really adds to the experience. Highly recommend it for anyone in New Orleans who loves history or ghosts!
