It is also the only plantation accessible by rideshare or taxi. Our tours are rich in political, social and economic history. After the tour, guests can view a folk-life demonstration, visit our 1811 Slave Revolt Exhibit, explore the grounds, picnic under a live oak tree draped in Spanish Moss and shop in our Plantation Store for unique hand-made items by local craft artisans. We are handicap accessible and kid friendly!

I just got back from the Destrehan Plantation tour, and wow, it was amazing! The costumed guides really brought the history to life. I loved seeing the 1811 Slave Revolt Exhibit. It’s definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area. Plus, the cafe had some delicious wraps to try after the tour!
