At The Dinner Detective, you’ll tackle a hilarious and challenging crime while you feast on a fantastic dinner. Just beware! The culprit is hiding in plain sight somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a Prime Suspect before you know it! Our engaging and unique murder mystery dinner theatre performances have been playing across the country since 2004. Our show is very different from traditional murder mystery dinner shows. We will hide non-costumed actors in the audience that are pretending to be part of the crowd. This results in a much more social and interactive evening than with other shows. Our shows are set during the present day and take place in real time. Over the course of the night, our costumed Detectives will uncover clues, interrogate audience members that may or may not be part of the show, and help everyone get closer to solving the mystery.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this dinner show? Can kids participate?

A: Yes, The Dinner Detective shows are generally recommended for ages 15 and up due to the mature themes and humor involved in the murder mystery. However, if you have younger teens, I'd say it could still be fun for them as long as they can handle the jokes and plot twists. Just make sure to check the show’s website or call ahead for any specific age restrictions!

Q: How do the seating arrangements work? Can we sit with friends?

A: You can definitely sit with friends! Just make sure to book your tickets together or call ahead to the venue to let them know the group size. They’ll do their best to accommodate you. The tables are set up for a more intimate experience, which is great for group interactions during the show!

Q: What should we wear to the dinner mystery show? Is it casual or dressy?

A: It's a nice mix! Most people go for smart casual, so think nice jeans and a stylish top or a sundress. You definitely don't need to go full-on formal, but you’ll want to look decent since it’s a dinner event. Just remember, you might get called up to participate, so wear something comfortable!

Thinking of gifting the Dinner Detective experience in St. Louis!

I’m considering getting this Dinner Detective murder mystery dinner show for my partner's birthday! It sounds super fun and interactive, plus I’ve heard the food is pretty good. Does anyone know if they have vegan options? I can’t wait to see if we get to be part of the show!

Just got back from the Dinner Detective show – so much fun!

I went to The Dinner Detective show last weekend with some friends and we had a blast! The way they get the audience involved is so unique. I didn't expect to be a prime suspect! 😂 The food was solid—had the chicken dinner and it was good. I’d definitely recommend this for a fun group outing!
