Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this trip? My son is 10 and I’m considering this for his birthday.

A: There's no official age limit for kids, but keep in mind the day is pretty packed with walking and some historical sites might not interest younger kids. It’s perfect for older kids and teens who can appreciate the history. Just make sure he’s ready for about an hour of walking around the National Mall!

Q: What do I wear for this day trip? Is it casual?

A: Definitely keep it casual! Comfortable walking shoes are a must since you’ll be doing a lot of walking. Layer up too, since D.C. weather can be unpredictable. A light jacket might come in handy, especially in the mornings.

Q: What’s the parking situation like in NYC for this trip?

A: Parking in Manhattan can be a hassle! It’s best to use public transit for this trip. The bus departs from a central location, and finding a parking spot can take a while and be expensive. If you can, just take the subway or a rideshare to the meeting point.

Just got back from the D.C. Day Trip - What an experience!

I took the Discover Washington DC day trip from NYC last week and wow, it was incredible! We visited the Lincoln Memorial and the views were just stunning. The bus was comfortable, and the guide was super knowledgeable. I really appreciated the stop at Arlington National Cemetery too. It was a long day but totally worth it! I highly recommend it for anyone who loves history or wants to see D.C. in a day.

Thinking about gifting the D.C. trip - any tips?

I'm considering this as a gift for my dad's birthday. He loves history! Has anyone done it recently? How’s the experience with the tour guide? Are the stops long enough to explore? Just want to make sure it’s a good gift since he’s really into historical sites.
