This tour explores the Indian River Lagoon, one of North America’s most ecologically diverse estuaries. Paddling in a clear kayak or on a paddleboard offers a rare vantage point to observe dolphins, manatees (seasonal), stingrays, fish, and other marine life around and beneath you. The lagoon supports thousands of species, making every outing a dynamic wildlife experience. While sightings are never guaranteed, dolphins are frequently seen here and manatees are commonly spotted during seasonal movements. Unlike motorized tours, this small-group paddle allows for a quieter, more natural wildlife encounter. Calm waters make it beginner-friendly, and small children can ride with an adult on our larger clear kayaks or stable paddleboards. This close-to-the-water perspective and guided interpretation create one of the most immersive ways to experience Florida’s coastal ecosystem.

Q&A

Q: Are there any age limits for kids on the kayak tour?

A: There's no strict age limit, but kids can join if they’re with an adult in the larger kayaks or on the paddleboards. It’s a great family activity! Just make sure your little ones are comfortable in the water and wearing a life vest. We had a 6-year-old with us who really enjoyed it!

Q: What should we wear for the Clear Kayak tour? Is there a risk of getting wet?

A: Wear something casual and comfortable! Quick-dry swimsuits or athletic wear are perfect since you might get splashed. And don’t forget water shoes or sandals that strap on. It’s also smart to bring a light jacket if it’s breezy early in the morning. Just be prepared for some fun on the water!

Q: Can we reschedule if the weather looks bad?

A: Yes, Epic Paddle Adventures is usually pretty flexible with rescheduling due to weather. They keep an eye on forecasts and will contact you if conditions aren’t safe. Just make sure to give them a heads-up if you can’t make it. They’re super accommodating!

Just got back from the Dolphin and Manatee tour—what an experience!

I went on the clear kayak tour in Cocoa Beach last weekend, and it was awesome! We saw a couple of dolphins swimming right next to us and even spotted a manatee! The guides were super knowledgeable about the lagoon’s wildlife. I brought my 9-year-old, and it was perfect for him too. Just a heads up, the water was a little chilly in the morning, so I’d recommend a light jacket until it warms up. Totally worth it!

Thinking about gifting the kayak tour—any thoughts?

I’m considering getting the Dolphin and Manatee kayak tour for my partner’s birthday. We love outdoor activities and are always looking for unique experiences. I’ve seen some reviews mentioning dolphin sightings! Just wondering if you guys think it’s good for beginners? Also, how’s the parking situation around Cocoa Beach?
