This kayak tour is our most relaxing and family-friendly tour.  This beginner kayaker’s paradise is our protected, safe, and warm location to learn to kayak while watching for Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, Swans, Egrets, and more. The wetlands and lake provide habitat for the federally-endangered Hine's emerald dragonfly among many other wildlife and plant species. The open zone grades into second-growth wet-mesic forest of white cedar, white spruce, balsam fir and black ash. This is an example of boreal forest habitat which a rare community type to be found in Wisconsin. In the Spring, wildflowers are outstanding on this location, with Hepaticas, Spring Beauties, Trilliums and Trout Lilies putting on a show from mid-April to the end of May.  See our website for more tour times, specials, and information at www.doorcountykayaktours.com

Thinking of gifting the Door County Wetlands Kayak Tour, any thoughts?

I’m considering this kayak tour for my parents who’ve never kayaked before. They love nature and birdwatching, especially bald eagles and herons! I’m a bit worried about how they’ll handle the kayaking part since they’re not super athletic, but I’ve heard it’s beginner-friendly. Has anyone done this? What was it like?

Just went on the Door County Wetlands Kayak Tour, and it was amazing!

I just got back from the Door County Wetlands Kayak Tour, and wow, what an experience! The wildlife was stunning—saw eagles and swans! The guides were super chill and made sure we were all comfortable in the kayaks. I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful outdoor activity.
