In a city blessed with blissful light, innovation and bold visual design statements, Los Angeles is full of architectural gems that only make sense in the context of the history around which they were built. Discover an ever-evolving urban centre with a unique blend of Art Deco and Beaux-Arts architectural landmarks, modern skyscrapers, and historic landmarks. You will discover sharp, crisp right angles of modernist architecture, the dazzling exoticism of soaring spires and fairytale towers, and grand palatial estates. Backdropped by year-round blue skies and golden sunshine, LA’s structures are showcased to perfection in the city’s famous sublime light. This tour will dazzle with the porous alabaster-white shell facade of the Broad Museum, the glinting curves of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the city’s downtown cultural centrepiece, and the old Mexican influences of El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument and its tree-shaded plazas.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this walking tour? Thinking about gifting it to my grandparents!

A: There's no strict age limit for the Downtown LA History & Architecture tour. It's designed for everyone, but I would recommend checking with your grandparents first to ensure they're comfortable with walking for an extended period. The guide would be happy to accommodate any specific needs you might have too!

Q: What if it rains? Will the tour still happen?

A: If there's light rain, the tour typically proceeds, but heavy rain might cause cancellations. The provider usually gives a heads up if conditions look bad, and they’re flexible with rescheduling if needed. Just check the weather forecast a day ahead!

Q: How long does the tour usually last, and what's the best time to go?

A: The tour length can vary, but you should expect around 2 to 3 hours. Early mornings or late afternoons might be the best times to avoid heat and crowds, plus the light for photos is gorgeous then. Definitely make sure to bring water and wear comfy shoes!

Just did the Downtown LA Walking Tour - AMAZING!

I gifted the Downtown LA History & Architecture tour to my boyfriend for his birthday, and it was such a hit! Our guide was super knowledgeable, and we got to see the Broad Museum and the Walt Disney Concert Hall up close. The architecture is jaw-dropping in person, especially with the sunlight hitting those buildings. We took a ton of photos! Anyone else done it? How was your experience?

Thinking of gifting this tour!

I’m looking for a unique gift for my sister who’s visiting LA next month. The private walking tour sounds great, but I’m worried about her mobility. Is it really walkable for someone who maybe has trouble with longer walks?
