Q&A

Q: Is there a good parking situation near the start of the tour in Incline Village?

A: Yeah, parking is pretty decent near Sierra Sotheby’s where the tour starts! There’s a small lot, but you might need to pay a little for parking depending on the time of year. Just keep an eye out for any signs regarding fees. If it’s super busy, there’s street parking around too, but it might take some patience to find a spot.

Q: What’s the difficulty level of the optional hikes along the tour? Are they kid-friendly?

A: The hikes are generally easy to moderate, which makes them super family-friendly! The trail to Cave Rock is pretty short and manageable for older kids, but keep an eye on younger ones near the edges. The views are definitely worth it, and you can always turn back if it gets too much!

Q: Can you do this tour in bad weather? What if it rains?

A: The tour can still be enjoyed in light rain, but it’s best on clear days to really appreciate the views. If the weather's really bad, I'd suggest rescheduling. You can usually find a link in your booking confirmation for that. Depending on how heavy the rain is, some beaches might be less enjoyable.

Thinking of gifting the Lake Tahoe self-guided tour - any tips?

I’m thinking of getting the Driving Lake Tahoe self-guided tour for my parents’ anniversary. They love history and scenic drives! I read it starts in Incline Village and goes down to South Lake Tahoe, which is perfect since they always talk about visiting. Any recommendations on scenic stops or good places to eat along the way? Thanks!

Just did the Lake Tahoe driving tour and loved it!

We just finished the Driving Lake Tahoe tour from Incline Village to South Lake Tahoe, and wow, it was amazing! The views are stunning, and learning about the Pony Express was super interesting. The optional beaches were a nice touch, too. We spent some time at Sand Harbor – totally recommend! Just make sure to wear comfy shoes if you're planning on hiking at Cave Rock. Can’t wait to do it again next summer!
