Q&A
A: Kids ages 5 and up can join the Lower Animas River kayaking trip. It’s a great family-friendly adventure! Just make sure they're comfortable in the water. The guides do a fantastic job with kiddos, so you’ll feel safe letting them have fun.
A: In September, weather can be a bit unpredictable, but typically it’s mild. I’d recommend wearing a swimsuit or quick-dry shorts, plus a splash jacket since you’ll likely get wet. Shoes that can get wet are a must! Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat.
A: Yes, you can definitely reschedule! The company is pretty flexible with weather-related issues. They usually reach out if conditions look unsafe, and they’ll help you pick a new date that works for you.

Thinking about the 3/4 Day Kayaking Trip in Durango - Advice?
I’m considering gifting the Lower Animas River kayaking trip for my brother’s birthday. He’s adventurous but has never kayaked before. Are the guides really that helpful? Also, what’s the best time of year to go? I want him to have an awesome experience!
Just did the Durango Kayaking Trip - It was a blast!
I just got back from the Lower Animas kayaking trip with Mild to Wild, and wow, I’m still buzzing! The guides were super knowledgeable and kept it fun. We hit some awesome Class III rapids, and the scenery was stunning. Definitely recommend going when it’s warm outside for the best experience!
