Q&A
A: The East Zion Canyoneering experience is great for families! Kids as young as 10 can participate, but they need to be accompanied by an adult. Make sure they’re comfortable with the idea of rappelling – it’s an awesome adventure, but can be a bit daunting for some kids.
A: Definitely dress warmly if you’re going in winter. Bring gloves, hats, and layers since it can get pretty cold, especially during the jeep ride. I’d recommend thermal wear under your clothes for the hike and rappel. The guides provide all the canyoneering gear, so just focus on staying warm!
A: Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season due to crowds, but there are designated lots near the entrance. Arrive early if you can! Also, the East Zion Adventures meeting point is close by, so make sure you have the details handy when you park.

Just booked the East Zion Canyoneering tour for my family!
Super excited about our upcoming canyoneering adventure in Zion! We’re doing the Elkheart Canyon & UTV tour next month. I've heard the views are insane, and it’s not too crazy for beginners. Anyone have tips on what to bring or what to expect? We have kids joining us, so I hope they’ll love the rappelling! 🧗♂️
Is the Elkheart Canyon the best part of the East Zion Canyoneering tour?
I’m seriously debating whether to gift this canyoneering trip to my adventurous friend. I heard the Elkheart Canyon part is amazing! Can anyone who’s gone tell me if it’s worth it? How was the hiking and rappelling? Thanks!
