Q&A
A: I'd recommend going early in the day, around 6:00am. The water is usually calmer, and you might get to see more wildlife like sea otters and eagles. Plus, it leaves you plenty of time to fish before your parents get tired. Just check the weather—Alaska can be unpredictable!
A: There's no specific age limit, but you should consider the kids' ability to follow safety instructions and their comfort with being on a boat. Just make sure to bring life jackets for the little ones if they're not provided. Also, kids usually love the sea life you'll see out there!
A: The extra charges kick in after four hours based on the rate set by the charter, usually around $100 for each additional hour. If you're really into fishing or want to explore the scenic spots longer, it can be worth it! Just discuss it with Captain Chris beforehand.

Just got back from the EcoFriendly Catch & Release Cruise—what an experience!
I took the EcoFriendly 4-hr Catch & Release Private Charter Cruise in Sitka with my friends last week. We started at 7am and the water was super calm! Captain Chris was awesome and really knows the area well. We caught a ton of salmon and even saw some humpback whales! Make sure to bring rain gear just in case. Snacks provided were a nice touch too. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting—perfect for fishing lovers!
Thinking of getting the EcoFriendly Catch & Release Cruise as a gift—thoughts?
I'm looking at this charter cruise for my dad's birthday, he loves fishing and the outdoors. I read that you can pick your own start time, which is a huge plus. Any tips for what to wear or prepare? Should I bring anything special?
