Q&A

Q: Is there a minimum age for kids to join this tour?

A: There's no strict age limit for kids, but I'd say it's best for ages 8 and up. They need to be able to walk around for a bit, especially on Ellis Island, which has a lot of history to cover. Just be prepared to explain some of the deeper stuff at the 9/11 Memorial.

Q: What happens if it rains? Is the tour still on?

A: The tour generally runs rain or shine. They'll provide rain ponchos if the weather looks bad. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes since you’ll be walking a lot, especially on the islands.

Q: How long is the entire tour? Is it worth the price?

A: The tour lasts about 4-5 hours altogether, including ferry rides. It’s a lot of walking, but the guides are super knowledgeable and make it worth it. You get a deep dive into the history of both the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 Memorial, which is really impactful.

Thinking of gifting the Ellis Island Tour - any advice?

I'm considering gifting the Ellis Island and 9/11 Memorial Pools Tour to my parents. They’ve always wanted to visit Lady Liberty! I see it includes the ferry tickets and a guided experience, but does anyone know how long the tour actually lasts? I want to make sure they’re up for it!

Just went on the Ellis Island Tour - Wow!

I just got back from the Ellis Island and 9/11 Memorial Pools Tour and it was incredible! The ferry ride was so nice, and the guide made the history come alive. The 9/11 Memorial was really moving. If you're planning to go, definitely bring a camera and wear good shoes!
