Q&A

Q: Are there age restrictions for this Samba School experience?

A: There aren’t any strict age restrictions for the Samba School experiences. Typically, it’s family-friendly, so kids are welcome as long as they have an adult with them. Just keep in mind that the atmosphere can get pretty lively, especially with the music and dancing! It’s a great way for families to enjoy Brazilian culture together.

Q: What should we wear for the Samba experience? Is it casual?

A: Definitely go for something comfortable and easy to move in! Casual wear works best, but if you have anything colorful or festive, that would totally fit the vibe. Just be ready to dance! Also, consider the weather, as it can get warm in Rio.

Q: What happens if it rains? Do they cancel the Samba experience?

A: They usually don’t cancel unless the weather is really severe since a lot of the experience is indoors or under cover. But in case of heavy rain, just check with your guide beforehand. They’re pretty good about keeping you updated on any changes!

Just booked the Samba School experience at Portela! Any tips?

I’m super excited! I just booked the Friday experience at Portela. I’ve heard so many great things about their history and the energy of the place. I’m a bit nervous about getting there since I’ll be traveling solo. Any tips on transport or what to expect during the session? Also, do they provide any snacks or drinks?

Thinking about gifting the Samba School experience! Any thoughts?

I’m considering this as a gift for my parents’ anniversary. They love music and culture, and I think this would be an amazing experience for them. Can anyone share how it goes? Is it more of a show, or will they actually get to dance along?
