Q&A
A: Great question! The banana boat ride is suitable for kids aged 5 and up, as long as they can wear the provided life jackets and hold on tight. If your little ones are adventurous and can swim a bit, they’ll have a blast! Just keep in mind that they might get tossed off a time or two, which is all part of the fun!
A: If the weather doesn't cooperate, Sonny’s Beach Service will contact you to reschedule your ride. They’re really flexible about this, so you won’t lose your payment. Just keep an eye on the forecast and maybe have a backup plan for indoor activities on the island!
A: You’ll definitely want to wear a swimsuit or something you don’t mind getting wet! Also, bring a quick-dry towel and maybe some water shoes if you have them. Sunscreen is a must too, because you’ll be in the sun a lot. Enjoy the ride—it’s a splash!

Just did the banana boat ride and it was AMAZING!
I surprised my family with the banana boat ride on South Padre Island last weekend, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! The crew was super friendly, and they really made sure everyone had a great time. We saw a ton of dolphins, and getting tossed off the banana boat was just hilarious. We all got soaked, but it was the best way to cool off in the summer heat! Highly recommend it if you’re looking for family fun!
Thinking of gifting this banana boat ride, any thoughts?
I’m considering getting the banana boat ride as a gift for my sister’s family. They have kids aged 6 and 9. Is it really as fun as it sounds? I want them to have the best time! Also, any tips on what else to do around South Padre Island afterward?
